A-Line Staffing is now hiring a  Patient Registration Representative / Customer Service Specialist (Multiple Locations – Southeast Michigan) .

Pay Rate: $18.00–$22.00 per hour (biweekly pay)

Position Type: Temporary-to-Permanent (opportunity to extend or convert to permanent based on business needs)

Position Overview

This role supports patient access and customer service functions across a large healthcare system in Southeast Michigan. Candidates may be placed in either a Patient Registration Representative or Customer Service Specialist role depending on experience and operational needs. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining excellent patient service and compliance standards.

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Full-time preferred
  • Schedule varies by location and department
  • May include rotating shifts depending on site needs
  • Fast-paced healthcare environment requiring reliability and flexibility
  • Must maintain professionalism in patient-facing or call center settings

Role Track A: Patient Registration Representative (Patient Access)

  • Patient check-in and check-out at front desk locations
  • Greeting patients and assisting with wayfinding and service support
  • Insurance verification, eligibility checks, and basic coverage discussions
  • Collecting and documenting demographic and insurance information
  • Collecting copays and issuing receipts according to policy
  • Scheduling appointments and coordinating with clinical teams
  • Maintaining accurate documentation in EMR/EHR systems
  • Ensuring full HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards

Role Track B: Customer Service Specialist

  • Handling inbound calls and/or patient service requests
  • Providing resolution for patient concerns and service inquiries
  • Appointment scheduling and general customer support
  • Escalating complex issues as appropriate
  • Accurate documentation of interactions in system platforms
  • Maintaining productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction standards
  • Following up on patient requests and service issues as needed

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ year of recent customer service experience (healthcare experience strongly preferred)
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Professional, patient-focused demeanor
  • Comfortable using computers, data entry systems, and multi-system navigation
  • Ability to work in a structured, fast-paced environment
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Preferred Experience

  • Patient registration, patient access, or medical front desk experience
  • Call center or healthcare customer support experience
  • Insurance verification and eligibility experience
  • Experience with EMR/EHR systems
  • Hospital, clinic, or health system experience
