Key Responsibilities

• Directing physical therapy treatment to prevent disability, relieve pain, and restore muscle function while maintaining maximum performance within each client's capabilities.
• Supervising and mentoring Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure the proper implementation of treatment plans and delivering quality care.
• Conducting thorough evaluations of patients' functional levels using diagnostic tools to inform treatment strategies.
• Assessing the home environment to identify rehabilitation opportunities and making recommendations to increase clients' independence.
• Administering prescribed physical therapy services, including manual therapeutic exercises, and instructing clients in performing non-manual exercises and functional activities.
• Utilizing various therapeutic modalities, including traction, massage, and applications of physical agents, to enhance treatment outcomes.
• Fitting and adjusting prosthetic and orthotic devices as appropriate and collaborating with physicians regarding necessary modifications.
• Contributing to the development and ongoing review of individualized care plans through participation in interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Documenting patient progress, changes in condition, and responses to therapy while ensuring compliance with clinical record requirements.
• Educating clients and families on the use of therapy devices and overall rehabilitation programs.
• Completing functional assessments and making necessary adjustments to care plans based on real-time evaluations.
• Proactively communicating with healthcare team members and providing consultations to clients and their families.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• Current state licensure as a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) in good standing.
