CNC Machine Shop Technician - 2nd Shift

Job Description

We are seeking a CNC Machine Technician for the 2nd Shift at our East Providence, RI location. This role involves inspecting and finishing machined components, supporting daily machine-shop production with a focus on quality and precision. Candidates with varying levels of CNC experience are welcomed: Level I candidates should have foundational machine-shop skills, while Level II candidates are expected to possess stronger CNC setup and troubleshooting capabilities. This position offers competitive pay with a shift differential and a temp-to-perm employment type.

Responsibilities

Inspect CNC-machined parts for burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections
Deburr and finish components using hand tools, grinders, sanders, tumblers, or other equipment
Follow blueprints, work instructions, and quality requirements
Protect finished parts from damage during handling and movement
Record completed work and report defects or discrepancies
Operate multiple CNC machines or manual equipment as assigned
Use measurement tools to confirm part quality
Communicate production or quality concerns to the supervisor
Collaborate with CNC operators and Quality team to resolve issues
Maintain an organized and safe work area
Follow all safety procedures and production requirements

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED
Manufacturing, machining, CNC, or machine-shop experience preferred
Ability to read technical drawings and work instructions
Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
Ability to communicate clearly in English
Dependable attendance with ability to work full 2nd-shift schedule
Ability to stand, bend, reach, and lift up to 25 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years in manufacturing
Trade-school or machining apprenticeship experience
Blueprint reading skills
CNC operation and basic programming/setup experience
Deburring techniques and use of calipers and micrometers
Quality inspection expertise
Technical communication and problem-solving skills
Exceptional attention to detail and manual dexterity
