Details Work on a 36 private-room Telemetry unit serving young adult through geriatric patients Priority admission given to patients requiring medical cardiac care and recovering from cardiac interventions such as cardiac surgery, coronary artery stent placement, and pacemaker implant Also admits hemodynamically stable non-procedural cardiac patients Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) Patient ratio of 1:5-6 Uses Epic charting system Requirements Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration Minimum 1.5-2 years of RN experience required Prior travel nursing experience required Certifications required: BLS and NIHSS; ACLS also required Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization, pre/post cardiac surgery, post cardiac angiogram, and post MI care Experience with heparin protocols and management of vasoactive drips (no titration) Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac Experience with renal failure and pre/post hemodialysis management preferred Experience with sheath removal, arterial line management, port accessing/management, and BiPAP/CPAP management preferred Additional Information Provide telemetry-level nursing care to a cardiac patient population, including monitoring for dysrhythmias and responding to emergencies Complete core onboarding items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing Complete required onsite orientation modules (approximately 4-6 hours for RNs) Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties will not be considered Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered Former staff members must wait one year before returning as a traveler All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position First-time travelers may be considered if minimum experience requirements are met American Traveler Job ID P-750759.
