We are a highly engaged team, with a dedicated orthopedic coordinator that collaborates with orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons and we take a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care./ppNursing skills gained on this unit:/pulliGeneral Orthopedic skills: dressing changes, post operative ambulation, brace application, etc./liliWound vac care, IV therapy and medications/liliPre-op and Post-op care for ortho/neuro/spine patients/li/ulpUnit Successes/Designations:/pulliHealthgrades Joint Replacement Excellence Award 2023/liliPreviously held Advanced Certification in Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement and Hip Fracture Certification by the Joint Commission for over 10 years./liliLead all inpatient units in meeting the goal of decreased Length of Stay./li/ulpUnit Culture:/pulliFast paced/liliQuick turnaround times/liliCollaborative care with physical therapy, case management team, social work, hospitalist, and Surgeons along with nursing staff./li/ulpQualifications/pulliRequires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred./liliEducation: The Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program./liliExceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience.
