IT Support Specialist Full Time Office & Admin Supp American Crane & Equipment Corporation & Shop, Douglassville, PA, US 22 days ago Requisition ID: 1279 Salary Range: $22.00 To $30.00 Hourly NOW HIRING: IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST Experienced IT Support Professional | Opportunity for Technical Leadership Department: Information Technology Location: On-site only | 531 Old Swede Road, Douglassville, PA 19518 (No remote work available) Schedule: Monday–Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM | Full-time on-site Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience, technical capability, education, certifications, and market data Build Your Career With ACECO We are looking for an IT Support Specialist who can independently troubleshoot complex user, workstation, software, and connectivity issues; take ownership of problems through resolution; improve how support is delivered; and become a trusted technical resource for employees and other members of the IT team. For the right candidate, this position also offers the opportunity to function as an informal technical lead within IT Support helping coordinate priorities, sharing knowledge, supporting less experienced team members, and raising the overall quality and consistency of day-to-day support. This is not a people-management position. The strongest candidate will still want to remain hands‑on while naturally providing technical leadership through experience, judgment, communication, and example. If you are already the person coworkers turn to when the easy troubleshooting steps do not work, this role may be a strong fit for you. You will not get lost here. Your work will be seen, and it will matter. What This Role Really Is This is a hands‑on IT support position with the opportunity for meaningful technical ownership. You will investigate hardware, software, access, workstation, network‑connectivity, and system‑related issues; configure and deploy technology; document support activity; assist users with new systems; and help maintain reliable daily technology operations across ACECO. We are particularly interested in candidates who have progressed beyond basic help‑desk support and can independently investigate unfamiliar problems, determine when escalation is appropriate, communicate clearly with users, and help others develop stronger troubleshooting habits. Depending on experience and demonstrated capability, you may also become a go‑to resource for day‑to‑day support priorities, recurring technical issues, documentation standards, workstation deployment practices, and knowledge sharing across the IT team. Who Thrives Here — and Who Does Not You will do well here if you: Take ownership of technical problems through complete resolution Are comfortable troubleshooting beyond scripted or basic help‑desk steps Naturally become someone teammates ask for help when an issue gets difficult Can explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical employees Stay patient and professional when users are frustrated or need step‑by‑step assistance Look for root causes instead of repeatedly applying temporary fixes Maintain accurate documentation and expect the same level of discipline from others Enjoy sharing knowledge and helping less experienced team members develop Can prioritize competing support needs without needing constant direction Want technical leadership opportunities without moving into formal people management This role is likely not a fit if you: Want to work remotely from home Prefer resolving only routine Tier 1 requests Avoid documentation or knowledge sharing Prefer highly isolated technical work with limited employee interaction Need frequent direction to determine what should be worked on next Want a management title more than you want to remain technically hands‑on Are unwilling to assist outside normal hours when a serious system or network issue affects operations What Success Looks Like in the First 90 Days First 30 Days Learn ACECO's technology environment, systems, support processes, security expectations, and business operations Build relationships with employees across Engineering, Manufacturing, Field Service, Sales, Accounting, HR, and other departments Begin independently resolving workstation, hardware, software, access, and connectivity issues Learn current ticketing, documentation, deployment, and escalation practices Identify recurring support issues and opportunities to improve documentation or processes Days 31–60 Independently own more complex support requests from investigation through resolution Support workstation deployments, onboarding, system changes, and user training Troubleshoot network‑connectivity and broader system issues within appropriate scope Help improve technical documentation and repeatable troubleshooting procedures Become a reliable escalation resource for difficult day‑to‑day support issues Begin sharing technical knowledge and troubleshooting approaches with other team members Days 61–90 Operate as a trusted technical resource for employees and the IT team Help prioritize or coordinate support activities when multiple issues compete for attention Identify root causes behind recurring technical problems and recommend solutions Support consistency in ticket documentation, workstation configuration, and end‑user support practices Contribute to broader IT projects and continuous improvement initiatives Where appropriate, demonstrate readiness to function as an informal technical lead without formal supervisory responsibility Why Join Our Team at American Crane? Technical Ownership You will be trusted to investigate problems, make sound technical decisions within your scope, and follow issues through resolution. Leadership Without Management Experienced specialists can influence how work gets done, mentor teammates, improve standards, and become trusted technical resources without leaving hands‑on IT behind.
