Senior Scientist, I

Senior Scientist I position supporting antibody-drug conjugate process development at AbbVie's North Chicago site. The role involves designing and executing experiments on ADC conjugation and purification operations, analyzing results, and collaborating across analytical, engineering, and manufacturing teams to advance pipeline programs.

Responsibilities

• Design and perform experiments on ADC conjugation and purification unit operations
• Execute conjugation and purification procedures at lab and pilot-scale reaction volumes
• Analyze experimental results and formulate conclusions to guide follow-on studies
• Mentor junior scientists and support cross-functional collaboration
• Author regulatory documents, publications, and patent applications

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 10 years experience, or Master's with 8 years, or PhD
• Strong theoretical and practical understanding of scientific discipline
• Demonstrated analytical skills and logical problem-solving approach
• Proficiency with HPLC-based analytical assays and sample preparation
• Chemistry, biochemistry, or chemical engineering background preferred
• Prior ADC chemistry and conjugation experience preferred but not required
