Head of Quality Assurance

the client is seeking an experienced Head of Quality Assurance to lead multiple testing teams responsible for quality assurance across the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including applications/solutions built on blockchain technologies. This role will champion a QA-first approach and drive continuous quality improvements, with an overarching responsibility for advancing test automation coverage, robustness, and the reliability of automation frameworks. the client will be responsible for hiring, training, and supervising SQA staff, and for managing team(s) of SQA engineers and leads, including people in remote and offshore locations. Key duties include preparing quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing trends such as failed processes, stability studies, corrective actions, and re-validations, while ensuring that automation and quality practices remain aligned with development and release needs. Qualifications include an undergraduate degree in computer science or an equivalent field, with 15+ years of software QA experience supporting SDLC at scale, and 8+ years of team management experience for teams of at least ten members. The role requires strong, hands-on test automation expertise across tools and frameworks (10+ years), a solid understanding of SDLC including patching and releases at scale, and applied Agile practices. Experience with continuous integration/delivery and how test automation fits into cloud-first approaches is expected, along with the ability to document and implement formal QA processes suitable for regulatory/compliance audits and experience collaborating with DevOps on security audits and penetration testing.
