Description
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients using standardized testing and observational methods.
  • Create individualized treatment plans that cater to both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing goals.
  • Implement personalized speech therapy sessions that emphasize communication, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing difficulties.
  • Collaborate effectively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, medical staff, caregivers, and the families in developing a cohesive care approach.
  • Provide education and resources to families to ensure sustained progress outside of therapy sessions.
  • Assist with occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and treatment, guaranteeing a seamless continuum of care throughout the patient's journey.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation that aligns with state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Engage in ongoing education and professional collaboration to stay at the forefront of the field.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of employment.

  • Expertise in evidence-based therapy techniques for varied age groups, coupled with a solid understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Flexibility to tailor therapeutic approaches to diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Competent with electronic medical record systems and documentation protocols.
