Safety Manager

divh2Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator/h2pThis position will be responsible for coordinating, planning, and managing the environmental, health, and safety programs throughout the Carlisle Architectural Metals manufacturing facility in Arden, NC. This includes managing programs to prevent injuries, health impairments, and collaborate with site leadership teams, as well as business unit directors and the Sr. Manager, EHS, to prevent, perform root cause analysis, and resolve environmental, health and safety problems./ppStandard working hours are Monday- Friday 8 am to 5 pm with occasional overtime and weekend hours./ppstrongDuties and Responsibilities:/strong/pulliRegular communication with CAM Regional Safety Specialists and site operations leadership./liliAssists the plant manager in strategic planning across the site which includes leading/lagging safety data analysis and problem solving./liliServes as the primary advisor regarding all safety issues for site leadership, supervisors, local safety committees, and hourly associates./liliActs as a behavior-based safety coach and mentor to site leadership teams and associates regarding safety tools, concepts, and mindset./liliImplements and maintains site safety plans, EHS standard work, and Carlisle safety programs./liliConducts comprehensive safety standard work assessments, PPE assessments, ergonomic assessments, and policy audits./liliManage/execute targeted environmental, health and safety projects throughout the facility./liliReviews and updates the safety policies and procedures in accordance with Company goals and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines./liliPrepare, implement, and executes safety training, on-boarding, mentoring, and associate BBS observations./liliReviews safety related documents and narratives such as Safety Committee minutes, inspection reports, forklift inspection checklist, accident investigation reports and near miss reports./liliLead, track, and review all site level incident problem solving for complete root causes, trends, and corrective action completion across location./liliMaintains the OSHA 300 logs./liliTrack OSHA recordable incidents, rates, and trends; regularly report safety performance measures to Divisional EHS Leadership./liliMaintains liaison between management and outside regulatory agencies in accordance with Company policy and statutory guidelines./liliChairs the safety committee and attends all required management team meetings./liliKeeps records of all employee training, corrections of unsafe conditions, dates and results of workplace inspections./liliSubmits necessary documentation to the corporate office for recordkeeping./liliMaintains all weekly, monthly, and yearly, safety inspections./liliMaintains all hazardous material and hazardous material area checks./liliManage the completion of EHS tasks utilizing EHS digital platform (Gensuite)./liliManage EHS ISO programs (ISO 14001)./liliOther duties as assigned./li/ulpstrongRequired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:/strong/pulliEffective written and verbal communication skills./liliComputer operations skills./liliBasic mathematics skills./liliKnowledge of SAP./liliKnowledge of OSHA regulations and plant safety./liliKnowledge of CPR and First Aid./liliKnowledge of quality control./li/ulpstrongEducation and Experience: /strong/pulliRequired: ulliBachelors degree in related field/liliMinimum of five (5) to eight (8) years of experience in a health and safety role in a manufacturing or processing environment preferred./li/ul/liliPreferred: ulliEHS related certification by a professional EHS association preferred (CSP, CIH)./li/ul/li/ulpstrongWorking Conditions:/strong/pulliManufacturing Plant environment where the plants may be dirt, dusty, and hotter/colder than office settings./liliMonday Friday; 8:00 am 5:00 pm./liliOccasional overtime or weekends required./liliLimited travel for meetings./li/ulpstrongPhysical Requirements: /strong/ppOCCASIONALLY - FREQUENTLY - CONTINUOUSLY/pp(0-30%) - (31-60%) - (61-100%)/ppLIFTING OR CARRYING/pp1-10 LBS - X/pp11-20 LBS - X/pp21-40 LBS - X/pp41-50 LBS -/pp51 OR MORE LBS/ppPUSHING OR PULLING:/pp1-40 LBS - X/pp41-50 LBS - X/pp51 OR MORE LBS/ppBENDING OR STOOPING - X/ppREACHING ABOVE SHOULDER LEVEL - X/ppDRIVING AUTOMATIC EQUIP.
