Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' trauma history and tailor treatment approaches accordingly.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery, resilience-building, and coping strategies.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate healing.

• Provide both individual and group therapy sessions, helping clients explore their trauma experiences, develop coping mechanisms, and foster emotional healing.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care, addressing any co-occurring conditions.

• Provide crisis intervention support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring clients receive immediate and effective assistance.

• Educate clients and their families about trauma responses, emotional regulation techniques, and available mental health resources.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress and treatment in compliance with ethical and legal standards.

• Participate in regular case consultations, team meetings, and professional development to enhance trauma-informed care practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on trauma survivors, many of whom are dealing with the effects of significant, life-altering experiences. You will support clients suffering from PTSD, complex trauma, and various dissociative disorders, and will work diligently to create a trusting therapeutic relationship conducive to healing. By employing trauma-informed care principles, you will empower clients to regain control of their lives and cultivate resilience.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or an equivalent credential recognized in New York.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure clinical experience in a mental health setting, particularly with trauma-affected populations.

• Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, therapeutic modalities specifically addressing trauma, and resilience-building techniques.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental demeanor.

• Ability to remain composed and effective in high-stress situations, employing crisis management techniques as necessary.

• Proficient in the use of electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard computer applications to maintain client files and documentation.

• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team framework, fostering collaboration and shared goals for patient care.

Preferred Experience\n

Experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions is highly desired, as is familiarity with contemporary research and advancements in trauma therapy. Compensation and Benefits\n
