As a subject matter expert in Spine Surgery, this individual will translate customer, clinical, and market insights into future New Product Development (NPD) opportunities across implants, enabling technologies, procedural innovation, and digital solutions. The role will support the NPD process from concept through commercialisation and act as a key commercial partner to R&D, Clinical, Medical Affairs, and Strategic Innovation teams to define and deliver the next generation of spine solutions.Support the definition of the innovation strategy, technology roadmap, and portfolio for the Spine business.Identify customer needs, emerging technologies, and market opportunities through Voice of Customer activities, technology scouting, and market analysis.Develop business cases, target product profiles, and investment recommendations to guide portfolio and product development decisions.Lead cross-functional innovation programmes from concept through development, launch, and global commercialisation.Influence senior leaders and drive alignment across a global matrix organisation while fostering innovation and collaboration.The UpstreamSenior Marketing Manager, Spine Robotics will report to the Global Head of Robotics.Responsibilities Include· Serve as a strategic commercial leader and subject matter expert in Spine Surgery, supporting the long-term innovation strategy, portfolio vision, and technology roadmap.· Lead upstream marketing activities supporting the NPD process, ensuring customer, clinical, and market insights are integrated throughout development.· Drive surgeon engagement activities, including advisory boards, Voice of Customer programmes, concept testing, and evaluation of future innovations.· Translate customer needs, market trends, and unmet clinical demands into product requirements, business cases, and strategic growth opportunities.· Support the development and maintenance of a multigenerational product and technology roadmap aligned with customer, market, and business needs.· Partner with R&D, Strategic Innovation, Clinical Affairs, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, and Commercial teams to define and execute portfolio strategy.· Monitor competitive activity, emerging technologies, and innovation trends to inform strategic decision-making and portfolio prioritisation.· Influence and align cross-functional stakeholders, key opinion leaders, and commercial teams to support strategic planning and successful execution of innovation initiatives.· Provide commercial leadership throughout the innovation lifecycle, including concept generation, product development, launch planning, and global commercialisation.· Support portfolio governance, investment prioritisation, and business planning.Qualifications / Requirements:Required Experience· Bachelor's degree required; postgraduate qualification in a related field preferred.· 8+ years of experience in Marketing, Product Management, Strategy, Innovation, Engineering, or a related discipline.· Experience in Medical Devices, Orthopaedics (Spine), Surgical Technologies, Navigation, Robotics, Digital Surgery, or related healthcare technologies.· Proven track record developing product strategies, innovation roadmaps, technology portfolios, and business cases that inform investment decisions.· Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept through commercialisation while influencing stakeholders in a matrix organisation.· Strong strategic, analytical, and commercial acumen with the ability to prioritise and deliver multiple high-impact initiatives with a high degree of autonomy.· Experience defining long-term strategic vision, translating insights into execution plans, and delivering measurable business results.· Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.· Ability to work within cadaver lab and operating room environments is required.· Preferred: Experience leading surgeon advisory boards, customer engagement programmes, market development initiatives, and innovation governance processes.· Preferred: Experience in Digital Health, Software, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Navigation, Robotics, or enabling surgical technologies.About OrthopaedicsFueled by innovation at the intersection of biology and technology, we’re developing the next generation of smarter, less invasive, more personalized treatments.Are you passionate about improving and expanding the possibilities of Orthopaedics?
