Emergency Medical Services Coordinator

Job Overview This position provides a collaborative environment between prehospital care providers and TriHealth hospital(s). The position enhances collaborative practice between prehospital and emergency care and various TriHealth service lines (e.g., cardiology, orthopedics, trauma, women's services as applicable) and provides outreach services to a multitude of prehospital care providers. These services include training for EMS and nursing personnel, marketing, advocacy, administrative, and other activities. The EMS coordinator is the primary liaison between hospital and prehospital personnel and provides two‑way feedback. The EMS Coordinator assists TriHealth in developing and maintaining prehospital satisfaction assessment tools and improvement plans of action. This position requires excellent communication and problem‑solving skills, creative problem‑solving, and initiative in managing change while independently performing day‑to‑day tasks. This role seeks to improve relationships and patient care at the local, state, and national levels. Job Requirements Bachelor’s in Healthcare or an Associate’s degree in Nursing Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS), and ACLS or PALS certification Advanced knowledge of emergency/critical care and state‑level standards 2 years experience as a medic Job Responsibilities Enhance community service through awareness of tertiary and ancillary care services via squad education. Attend pre‑hospital meetings to build relationships with fire chiefs, community leaders, and public safety officers. Conduct team building within EMS, Emergency, Trauma, Cardiac, Surgical, and Women's Services to provide and regulate seamless patient transfer from pre‑hospital to hospital environment. Act as a resource person for ED and EMS personnel regarding patient care issues. Provide collaborative effort with county and community officials to enhance disaster preparedness. Conduct research and analysis of current and future EMS issues and trends to ensure quality medical services. Assist in accomplishing established overall organizational goals through program management and quality assurance. Collaborate with applicable service lines to facilitate quality improvement initiatives, including STEMI and overall patient care quality improvement initiatives. Provide on‑site education for the EMS community in partnership with major service lines, including advanced EMS training with the simulation center as needed.
