About the role Proxima Fusion is at the forefront of innovation, working on the development of the first commercial stellarator fusion power plant. This ambitious project is grounded in the Wendelstein 7-X design and aims to bring the Alpha and Stellaris machines to life. We are in search of a skilled project manager who will take charge of our site and infrastructure development initiatives. This position demands an individual who can navigate the complexities of project management from the initial idea stage to full implementation in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Key facts Location: Munich Engagement: Full-Time Team: Technical Operations / Manufacturing What you’ll do Oversee the comprehensive delivery of site and infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to budgets, timelines, risk assessments, and effective stakeholder engagement. Convert feasibility studies and master plans into actionable project roadmaps that include clearly defined gates and milestones. Act as the main liaison for external consultants, site proprietors, and local planning authorities, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration. Coordinate various workstreams related to site development for pioneering projects, ensuring alignment and efficiency. Integrate project timelines and risk management data into the Alpha Integrated Master Schedule to maintain project coherence. Identify potential dependencies and risks that may affect the critical path of the overall program, implementing strategies to mitigate these issues. Conduct regular project reviews and updates to ensure all stakeholders are informed of progress and any changes to the project scope. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration among teams to ensure that all aspects of site and infrastructure development are aligned with organizational goals. Requirements Demonstrated professional experience in project management specifically related to infrastructure, industrial facilities, or site development. Proven ability to juggle multiple projects at various stages, including those that are still in the conceptual phase. A strong history of effectively managing complex relationships with external stakeholders and regulatory agencies. Fluency in both German and English at a professional level is essential for this role. Familiarity with digital workflows and the use of AI-based tools to enhance project management efficiency. Strong analytical skills to assess project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Nice to have An academic or professional background in civil engineering, energy infrastructure, or industrial facility management would be advantageous. Previous experience working on early-stage or innovative technical programs is a plus. Knowledge of current trends and technologies in the energy sector, particularly in relation to fusion energy. Skills & tools Proficiency in project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall approaches. Expertise in stakeholder management to ensure all parties are engaged and informed throughout the project lifecycle. Strong understanding of infrastructure development processes and best practices. Risk management skills to identify, assess, and mitigate potential project risks. Experience with AI-assisted digital tools that enhance project tracking and reporting capabilities.
