Regional Medical Scientific Director (aka Medical Science Liaison) Immunology - GI (Upper Midwest)

Merck seeks a credentialed Regional Medical Scientific Director (Medical Science Liaison) specializing in inflammatory bowel disease immunology for the Upper Midwest. This director-level medical affairs role engages scientific leaders in bidirectional exchange of medical information, supports clinical research initiatives, and represents the company at scientific congresses.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with scientific leaders and conduct peer-to-peer scientific discussions
• Address scientific inquiries and direct out-of-scope questions to appropriate company resources
• Support investigator-sponsored research through scientific exchange and alignment assessment
• Recommend study sites and identify potential investigators for clinical development programs
• Gather feedback and insights on medical and scientific needs during routine activities

Requirements

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD degree
• Three years of relevant Immunology and Inflammatory Bowel Disease experience
• Doctoral-level discussion capability with external stakeholders
• Strong knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and pharmaceutical regulations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting platforms
• Ability to travel up to 50% within Upper Midwest territory
