Regional Medical Scientific Director (aka Medical Science Liaison) Immunology - GI (North Texas)

Merck seeks a credentialed Medical Scientific Director to serve as a regional liaison between the scientific community and the company, facilitating bidirectional exchange of scientific information in immunology and inflammatory bowel disease. The director-level position involves engaging with scientific leaders, supporting clinical research initiatives, and maintaining expertise in the therapeutic area.

Responsibilities

• Build professional relationships with scientific leaders and conduct peer-to-peer scientific discussions on therapeutic areas and company products
• Address scientific inquiries from external stakeholders and escalate out-of-scope issues appropriately
• Support investigator-sponsored and company-sponsored research through site identification, study initiation visits, and enrollment problem-solving
• Represent the company at scientific congresses and medical meetings to facilitate data exchange
• Gather market and scientific intelligence from routine stakeholder interactions to inform company strategy

Requirements

• PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD degree required
• Three years of relevant immunology and inflammatory bowel disease experience post-terminal degree
• Strong verbal and written communication skills at doctoral level
• Knowledge of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and pharmaceutical industry regulations and ethics
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting platforms
• Ability to organize and prioritize in dynamic, fast-changing environment
• Excellent stakeholder management and scientific networking capabilities
