Position Summary

The PRIDE Stores is seeking a hands-on, mechanically inclined Maintenance Technician to keep our car wash equipment running smoothly and our facilities in top condition. This role focuses primarily on the upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of car wash systems, with additional responsibility for general building and facilities maintenance. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver who enjoys working with their hands, is comfortable diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and takes pride in keeping equipment and facilities operating at peak performance.

Key Responsibilities

Car Wash Equipment Maintenance

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on car wash equipment, including conveyors, brushes, dryers, pumps, motors, chemical dispensing systems, water reclaim systems, and vacuums.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Replace worn or damaged parts (belts, bearings, seals, nozzles, sensors, etc.) and adjust equipment for optimal performance.
• Monitor water, chemical, and air pressure levels; calibrate equipment as needed.
• Maintain logs of repairs, service intervals, and parts inventory where needed
• Respond to equipment breakdowns quickly to minimize downtime.

Facilities & General Repairs

• Handle general building maintenance, including plumbing, basic electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and basic repairs.
• Maintain facilities, signage, lighting, walls, and customer-facing areas.
• Perform seasonal tasks such as winterizing equipment, pressure washing, and filter changes.
• Identify safety hazards and address them promptly; ensure compliance with company and OSHA safety standards.
• Coordinate with outside vendors or contractors when specialized work is required.

Required Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and a genuine interest in how things work.
• Skilled with hand and power tools and comfortable performing general repairs.
• Ability to read basic schematics, equipment manuals, and parts diagrams (or willingness to learn).
• Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to respond to occasional after-hours service calls.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in wet/humid conditions, and stand or kneel for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications (Experience Is a Plus)

• Prior experience maintaining car wash equipment (Sonny’s, PECO, MacNeil, Ryko, Belanger, etc.).
• Background in industrial, automotive, or facilities maintenance.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems, VFDs, PLCs, or hydraulics.
• Plumbing, welding, or HVAC experience.
