Responsibilities Responsible for the decontamination, prepping, packaging and sterilization of all instrumentation processed through the department following established procedures. Acts as preceptor, mentor and resource for department team members. Requires knowledge of decontamination processes, preparation, packaging, sterilization techniques (based on manufacturer recommendations), storage of sterilized items, sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, sterile field set‑up, and interpretation of policies, procedures, protocols and performance reviews in compliance with recognized standards.
