Senior Project Accountant

Oline Construction is a growing general contractor delivering high-quality projects across multiple markets. We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Project Accountant to join our Omaha office and play an important role in the financial success of our construction projects. The Opportunity The Senior Project Accountant will manage the day-to-day accounting and financial administration for assigned construction projects from setup through closeout. This person will partner closely with the Controller, Project Managers, and operations team to keep project financials accurate, billing on track, and job-cost information current. What You’ll Do Manage project accounting for assigned jobs from setup through closeout. Prepare and review owner billings, including AIA-style pay applications, retainage, change orders, lien waivers, and supporting documentation. Manage and review subcontractor pay applications and payment documentation. Reconcile owner billings, subcontractor billings, job costs, commitments, and general ledger activity. Monitor project budgets, costs, commitments, change orders, and billing status. Partner with Project Managers to review project financials and resolve billing or cost-related questions. Assist with monthly work-in-progress (WIP) reporting and reconciliations. Support month-end close activities and ensure project accounting is complete, accurate, and timely. Assist with project setup, contract administration, and closeout activities. Help strengthen project accounting processes and internal controls as Oline continues to grow. What We’re Looking For 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry. Direct project accounting experience is required. Strong knowledge of job-cost accounting, owner billing, subcontractor pay applications, retainage, change orders, and construction contracts. Working knowledge of WIP and percentage-of-completion accounting. Strong Excel skills and comfort working with detailed financial data. CMiC experience is strongly preferred. Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Clear, professional communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with operations teams.
