Senior Accountant

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant who can step into an established organization, take ownership of the day-to-day accounting work, and help bring additional structure and consistency to the finance function. This is an ideal role for someone who is steady, dependable, self-directed, and comfortable working with limited oversight. Beyond handling the accounting fundamentals, you’ll have the opportunity to identify gaps, improve processes, and help develop documentation and SOPs that make the department stronger long term. What You’ll Do Handle general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close activities Assist with financial reporting and other recurring accounting responsibilities Research discrepancies and work through accounting issues independently Support various accounting and finance projects as needs arise Evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement Help create and document accounting procedures and SOPs Partner with the Controller and other members of the accounting and finance team Step into projects and priorities as the department continues to evolve What ’re Looking For Solid, well-rounded accounting experience at the Senior Accountant level Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close Ability to work independently and take ownership without requiring significant direction Someone who can walk into an environment, assess what needs to be done, and get moving Dependable and consistent work style with strong attention to detail Comfortable working in an environment where processes may not always be fully documented Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP/Great Plains is helpful The Environment This is a fully in-office opportunity working with a relatively quiet, heads-down accounting team. The organization is looking for someone who brings stability, professionalism, and follow-through to the department. You’ll report directly to the Controller and have the opportunity to become a trusted resource within the accounting team.
