NeuropsychologistCity/State: White Plains, New YorkDepartment: WPHPA CAMs Orthopedics & Spine Surgery_6Work Shift: DayWork Days: MON-FRIScheduled Hours: 8:30 AM-5 PMHours Per Pay Period: 80Pay Rate/Range: ContractualEssential FunctionsUnderstands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and BehaviorsEpilepsy Clinical Services: Conduct comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations for: presurgical epilepsy candidates (resective surgery, laser ablation, neuromodulation), patients undergoing intracranial EEG monitoring, differential diagnosis (epilepsy vs. non-epileptic events)Assess cognitive domains including memory, language, executive function, attention, visuospatial skills, and processing speed.Evaluate mood, behavioral, and psychosocial functioning.Provide cognitive risk assessment and outcome counseling for epilepsy surgery.Participate in Wada testing and/or functional mapping interpretation when applicable.Conduct postoperative cognitive outcome evaluations and longitudinal follow-upDementia & Cognitive Neurology Services: Perform comprehensive evaluations for:Mild cognitive impairment (MCI)Alzheimer's disease and related dementiasFrontotemporal and other atypical neurodegenerative syndromesAssist in differential diagnosis between neurodegenerative, psychiatric, vascular, and epilepsy-related cognitive disorders.Provide longitudinal cognitive monitoring.Offer counseling and education to patients and families regarding diagnosis, prognosis, and cognitive management strategies.Neuro-Oncology Services: Conduct baseline and follow-up neuropsychological assessments for patients with: primary brain tumors, metastatic brain lesions, treatment-related cognitive changes (radiation, chemotherapy, immunotherapy)Assist in presurgical functional risk assessment for tumor resections.Monitor cognitive effects of neurosurgical and oncologic treatments.Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Participate in epilepsy surgery conferences, tumor boards, and cognitive case conferences.Collaborate with epileptologists, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, psychiatrists, oncologists, and rehabilitation specialists.Integrate neuropsychological findings into treatment planning and surgical decision-making.Contribute to neuromodulation and advanced therapeutic planning (RNS, DBS, VNS).Performs all other duties as assigned.QualificationsPhD Required or Doctor of PsychologyCompletion of an accredited internship RequiredCompletion of a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology (epilepsy, dementia, or neuro-oncology experience preferred RequiredExperience with neuropsychological evaluation and management of patients with dementia and neurodegenerative disorders, as well as individuals with primary or secondary brain tumors (neuro-oncology).Psychologist - New York State Board of Psychology Licensed or license-eligible in New York State.
