Associate Professor/ Director- Doctor of Nursing Practice

Primary Purpose Of Position The School of Nursing, within the Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, is seeking an Associate Professor/Director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice program. The role focuses on teaching and scholarly research in Nursing leadership or Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing. The primary responsibilities include supervising the DNP program, providing student-centered teaching and clinical instruction of undergraduate and graduate-level courses, advising and mentoring students, recruiting, curriculum development, program assessment, accreditation procedures, and mentoring faculty research and scholarship. The ideal candidate will establish and sustain a strong externally-funded research program, produce a record of scholarly publications, integrate modern pedagogical techniques, support DNP student projects, and serve the School of Nursing, the college, the university, and community and professional organizations. Minimum Requirements Hold a terminal degree in nursing or related healthcare disciplines. Eligible to hold an unrestricted RN or ARNP license in North Carolina. Experience in progressive academic leadership and demonstrated teaching excellence. Sustained research record in nursing science or related health care fields with potential for external funding. Preferred Credentials Prior accreditation or reporting experience of the DNP program. Teaching experience in baccalaureate and/or graduate nursing programs or credentials meeting the North Carolina Board of Nursing’s educational requirements. Three years of academic leadership experience. Three years of clinical experience related to core nursing concepts. Nurse Educator Certification. Required Licenses and Certifications Current unrestricted RN license in North Carolina, or eligibility to obtain one. Advanced Practice Nurses must hold a national certification.
