Residential HVAC Service & Diagnostic TechnicianBay Breeze Heating and CoolingDavidsonville, MD$22-$35 per hourBay Breeze Heating and Cooling is expanding our service department and looking for an experienced Residential HVAC Service & Diagnostic Technician who enjoys troubleshooting, solving technical problems, and providing customers with dependable solutions.We're an established and growing local HVAC company that believes skilled technicians should have the support, training, and opportunities needed to continue advancing their careers. If you're comfortable diagnosing residential systems and want a position where your technical ability is recognized, we'd like to hear from you.Compensation & SchedulePay: $22.00-$35.00 per hour, based on experience, technical ability, performance, and continued trainingRegular Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM with a 1-hour lunchTechnicians participate in a rotating on-call schedule for emergency service coverage. Some evening and weekend availability is required when scheduled.What You'll Be DoingDiagnose residential heating and cooling system problemsComplete HVAC repairs and restore equipment to proper operationPerform preventative maintenance and system inspectionsTroubleshoot electrical, mechanical, airflow, and refrigerant-related issuesService heat pumps, central air conditioners, gas and oil heating equipment, geothermal systems, and related componentsRead wiring diagrams, schematics, and equipment specificationsProperly charge and evaluate refrigeration systems using superheat and subcoolingIdentify airflow issues and apply basic air-balancing principlesEvaluate equipment condition and provide appropriate repair or replacement recommendationsClearly explain findings and available solutions to homeownersComplete service documentation accuratelyMaintain an organized service vehicle and appropriate parts inventoryCommunicate technical, inventory, pricing, and training needs to the Service ManagerRepresent Bay Breeze professionally in customers' homesWhat We're Looking For2-3 years of residential HVAC service experience preferredStrong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilityExperience servicing multiple types and brands of residential HVAC equipmentUnderstanding of electrical controls and low-voltage systemsAbility to interpret wiring diagrams and blueprintsKnowledge of refrigeration principles and proper system charging proceduresFamiliarity with basic sheet metal and airflow practicesAbility to evaluate repair options and recognize when equipment replacement should be consideredStrong communication and customer-service skillsDependable and capable of working independently in the fieldWillingness to participate in the rotating on-call scheduleCFC/EPA certification - minimum Type I and Type IIWillingness to obtain NATE certification and a Low Voltage License within 2 years of employmentInterest in continued technical development and increased responsibilityBenefitsMedical insuranceDental insurancePaid vacationPaid holidays401(k) with 4% company matchContinued technical developmentOpportunities for advancement and increased responsibilityStable, full-time employment with an established local companyGrow Your Service Career With Bay BreezeWe're looking for technicians who want to become better at their craft, not simply move from one service call to the next.
