Registered Nurse - Intermediate/Step Down Unit

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for our Intermediate/Step Down Unit specializing in Pulmonary and Thoracic care. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing high-risk respiratory and cardiac patients post-surgery, including those who have undergone hepatobiliary and head/neck surgeries.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Intermediate/Step Down Unit.
• Monitor and assess patient needs, providing necessary interventions based on their condition.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and their families about health management and post-operative care.

Schedule

This position is for 12-hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a similar specialty.
• Active AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Active Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Preferred: National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
