Utility Worker IIIPosition Summary: These entry level positions provide labor for various tasks around the mill including picking up paper, operating forklift, cleaning, etc. Will fill in for vacancies in entry level positions as needed. Must be able to carry/lift 50 lbs. Candidates with previous experience operating forktruck or other mobile equipment are preferred, but that experience is not necessary for consideration. This is a rotating shift position and membership in the Union is required after 90 days.Essential Job Functions:Participates in the safety program and works to exceed all safety standards and requirements mandated by the plant and OSHAMaintain general housekeeping around mill, including but not limited to: dumping hoppers/trash, cleaning floors / walls, general cleanliness of millAssist with Housekeeping Audit action items as directed by area ownerAssist with general duties in dry end / wet end as required, which may include: use of overhead crane to move rolls, cutting of cores, slabbing rolls and banding slabs to prepare for transport to trailerUse forklift as required to move broke, supplies, etc.Keeping supplies stocked in areas throughout MillKnowledge and understanding of Mill training system, policies, and processesOther duties as assignedEssential Job Requirements:EDUCATION HS Graduate or equivalent.REQUIRED SKILLS Ability to use tools/equipment such as: forklift, simple hand tools, clamp truck, yard tractor, banding machine, utility knife, roll pusherPREFERRED SKILLS Heights, confined space, ability to lift 50 lbs and carry up to 25 lbs.
