Job Summary:
The Construction Services Supervisor is responsible for leading STRM's estimating and project management functions for refrigeration, mechanical, and plumbing construction projects. This position ensures projects are accurately estimated, properly planned, effectively managed, and successfully transitioned to field operations. The Construction Services Supervisor works closely with Business Development, Construction Managers, and company leadership to support profitable project execution and customer satisfaction.

The primary accountability of this role is ensuring work is properly estimated, planned, and managed.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach, and develop estimating personnel.
• Establish and maintain estimating standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Review estimates for accuracy, completeness, constructability, risk, and profitability.
• Ensure consistency in labor productivity assumptions, material pricing, subcontractor evaluations, and project risk analysis.
• Maintain estimating databases, productivity metrics, and historical cost information.
• Analyze estimate-to-actual project performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Supervise and develop Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and project support personnel.
• Support and help develop Project Coordinators.
• Establish and maintain project management standards, procedures, and documentation requirements.
• Monitor project schedules, financial performance, forecasts, change orders, and risk-management activities.
• Facilitate project kickoff meetings and support project planning efforts.
• Assist project teams in resolving complex customer, contractual, scheduling, and operational issues.
• Support project closeout activities and documentation requirements.
• Coordinate preconstruction activities among Business Development, Estimating, Construction Managers, and Operations.
• Lead constructability reviews and project planning meetings.
• Evaluate project risks, labor requirements, schedule constraints, procurement requirements, and execution strategies.
• Participate in project walkthroughs and customer planning meetings as required.
• Support development of project execution plans and staffing forecasts.
• Monitor estimate accuracy and project profitability.
• Review job-cost reporting and forecasting activities.
• Support gross-profit objectives and financial performance goals.
• Review and support change-order management processes.
• Assist leadership in evaluating project risk and financial exposure.
• Assess current and future staffing needs within estimating and project management functions.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, development, and annual performance reviews for assigned personnel.
• Develop training programs and career-development plans for estimating and project management personnel.
• Promote accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across project services.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators for estimating and project management activities.
• Lead project postmortems from estimating and project management perspectives and track corrective actions.
• Support Business Development during project-pursuit activities.
• Ensure awarded projects are effectively transitioned from sales and estimating to project management and field operations.
• Communicate project expectations, commitments, risks, and concerns throughout the organization.
• Visit active and prospective jobsites when appropriate; some travel is required.
• Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations while maintaining a safe, clean, and professional work environment. Promptly report hazards, incidents, and unsafe conditions to help protect employees, customers, and company property.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field with a minimum of three (3) years of estimating or project management experience in the HVAC/R, mechanical, plumbing, or construction industry; or a minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible industry experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction estimating, project management, job costing, forecasting, and change-order management.
• Working knowledge of refrigeration, mechanical, and plumbing construction methods, materials, and project delivery requirements.
• Proven leadership, coaching, and personnel-development skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, verbal, written, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with Business Development, Operations, Construction Managers, customers, and project teams.
• Customer service-oriented mindset with a commitment to client satisfaction and long-term relationships.
• Ability to think strategically and maintain a big-picture perspective while managing details.
• Proficient in estimating, project management, job-costing, and standard business software applications.
• Skilled in conflict resolution, problem solving, risk management, and decision making.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient at anticipating issues, developing practical solutions, and responding quickly to unexpected situations.
• Valid driver's license required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to travel to active and prospective job sites; driving is required.
• Ability to walk construction sites, including uneven terrain, gravel, mud, and partially completed structures.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during site visits, inspections, and meetings.
• Ability to climb ladders and access rooftops, mezzanines, and elevated work areas as needed.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds (e.g., plans, tools, materials, or equipment).
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch to inspect installations and job progress.
• Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, and noise typical of construction sites.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, high-visibility vest, and work boots.
• Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer, preparing estimates, reviewing project reports, and conducting virtual meetings.
• Manual dexterity is sufficient to operate standard office equipment, including computers, keyboards, and mobile devices.
