We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support a non-profit organization in Asheville, North Carolina through a part-time Contract assignment covering a leave of absence. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys accurate financial recordkeeping, donation tracking, and day-to-day accounting support in a mission-driven environment. The role will assist with routine payables, receivables, and data entry tasks while helping maintain organized and timely financial documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Record and track charitable contributions with accuracy, ensuring donation information is properly entered and maintained.

• Provide day-to-day accounting support by updating financial records and assisting with routine clerical accounting activities.

• Process invoices in a timely manner and help maintain organized accounts payable documentation.

• Support accounts receivable tasks by posting payments, updating records, and following established procedures.

• Enter financial and transactional data into QuickBooks and related systems with a high level of accuracy.

• Review records for completeness and resolve basic discrepancies through careful verification of supporting information.

• At least 1 year of experience in an data entry, counting clerk, bookkeeping, or similar finance support role.

• Working knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

• Strong data entry skills with close attention to detail and accuracy.

• Experience processing invoices and maintaining organized financial documentation.

• Ability to manage part-time responsibilities effectively and support a contract maternity leave assignment.

• Comfortable working in a non-profit environment and handling sensitive financial information with discretion.
