Medical Lab Technician

This is a 13-week contract position.

Evenings, Monday to Friday from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with weekend and holiday rotation.

The Medical Lab Technician will support high-quality laboratory testing in a clinical setting. The technician is responsible for preparing specimens for testing, performing routine and specialized laboratory tests, ensuring quality control processes, troubleshooting laboratory instruments, and maintaining equipment. Communication of technical information to both medical and laypersons is essential, along with assisting in the training of laboratory personnel.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare specimens for testing.
• Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests.
• Conduct quality control and troubleshoot any errors.
• Communicate technical information clearly.
• Assist with training of laboratory personnel.
• Participate in continuing education.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or a relevant medical/scientific discipline.
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by ASCP BOC or an equivalent laboratory certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, with a preference for experience in hematology and/or chemistry.
