About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President for Faculty Affairs to serve as the academic personnel officer for faculty and academic student employees. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic leadership and administrative oversight of all faculty lifecycle matters, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements, and advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion in academic personnel processes. This role involves advising on complex faculty personnel and labor relations matters, interpreting and implementing collective bargaining agreements, and representing the institution in various proceedings. The AVP FA will also work closely with Human Resources, Equity and Compliance, and shared governance bodies to uphold fair and legally sound personnel practices. Applicants must have an earned doctorate or other terminal degree, a record of excellence in teaching and scholarly or creative achievement, and a minimum of 3 years' administrative experience in a leadership role. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in higher education, as well as the ability to handle sensitive matters with integrity and professionalism. Preferred qualifications include experience in faculty personnel processes, collective bargaining, and supporting equity-focused initiatives in faculty hiring and retention. The role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to collaborate with various campus partners, and a strong background in mentoring and supporting faculty and staff.
