Software Engineer Level 1

Software Engineer 1Markon is seeking a Software Engineer 1 to support a high-priority, highly visible malware analysis modernization program for the Fort Meade customer. This role will work with a team of innovative engineers to develop new capabilities supporting the processing of mission-critical data and analytics. The position will contribute to the modernization of existing services and applications, helping to improve performance, scalability, and functionality across a critical mission platform.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and enhance Java-based applications and backend servicesDesign, develop, and support RESTful APIs and service-oriented architecturesSupport modernization efforts for data processing services and mission applicationsCollaborate with engineers and stakeholders to develop and implement new capabilitiesParticipate in Agile software development activities, including sprint planning, code reviews, testing, and deploymentTroubleshoot and resolve software defects, performance issues, and system problemsDevelop and maintain technical documentation and software artifactsSupport software integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment activitiesContribute to continuous improvement initiatives and software development best practicesQualificationsRequired QualificationsActive TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer.Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of software engineering experienceExperience developing Java applications and backend servicesExperience developing and supporting RESTful APIs and web servicesExperience working in Agile development environmentsExperience using Git for source code managementExperience with Atlassian tools, including Jira and ConfluenceExperience using IntelliJ IDEA or Eclipse IDEAbility to multitask and adapt quickly to changing priorities and mission requirementsStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and collaboration skillsDesired QualificationsExperience supporting malware analysis, cybersecurity, or mission-focused analytic platformsExperience modernizing legacy applications and processing frameworksFamiliarity with enterprise software architectures and distributed systemsExperience supporting Intelligence Community mission systems and environmentsSalary RangeUSD $160,000.00 - USD $180,000.00 /Yr.
