Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery Seasonal

Job Summary As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Labor and Delivery (L&D) unit, you will coordinate and provide patient care for all assigned patients. You will conduct initial and ongoing assessment, develop individualized patient care plans, provide family-centered teaching, identify and correct variances, and facilitate discharge planning. Responsibilities Complete admission interview and document patient assessment. Identify changes in patient condition and report promptly to physician or charge nurse. Assess and document patient educational needs and instructions upon admission and throughout hospitalization. Provide psychological and social support to patient and family. Facilitate interdisciplinary discharge planning. Accurately administer and legibly document medications. Keep physician or Clinical Nurse Coordinator aware of significant information or changes regarding patient and family. Continuously evaluate the plan of care to determine need for modifications. Provide individualized nursing interventions based on the plan of care and document patient responses. Requirements Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience as an RN. Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Valid State of Texas RN license or Compact RN license (Texas license within 90 days if Compact). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required.
