Job Summary The Dairy Queen Assistant Manager helps oversee daily restaurant operations, supports the General Manager, and ensures the team delivers a high‑quality guest experience. This role assists with staffing, training, and operational standards while helping drive team performance and efficiency. Job Duties and Responsibilities Assist the General Manager with daily operations and shift coverage Supervise, train, and develop team members and shift leads Ensure exceptional customer service and resolve escalated guest concerns Support hiring, onboarding, and scheduling processes Monitor labor, food costs, and inventory levels Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety, and health regulations Assist with cash handling, deposits, and financial reporting Maintain cleanliness, food quality, and brand standards Help implement operational goals and improve store performance Step in as acting manager when the General Manager is not present Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities An ideal candidate will have experience with or understanding of: Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation. Good customer service and communication skills. Ability to learn and follow company procedures. Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment. Strong time management and organizational skills. Team‑oriented with a positive, professional attitude. Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities. Education and Experience An ideal candidate will have the following education and experience: Previous supervisory or management experience in quick service restaurant or food service Strong leadership, organization, and problem‑solving skills Working environment and physical requirements Must be 18 years of age or older Must be able to stand during the entire work shift. Must be able to work in a cooler at a temperature of 35 degrees for up to 30 minutes. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to tolerate gas fumes and cleaning products. Must be able to climb a ladder to clean windows.
