This is a full-time position located in Bethesda, MD.* Provide scientific, technical, and operational oversight of the cryo-EM facility.* Support structural biology research through high-quality cryo-EM data acquisition and analysis.* Manage facility operations, including instrument performance, user access, and workflow optimization.* Oversee operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of cryo-EM instrumentation.* Perform cryo-EM sample preparation, data collection, and computational analysis.* Train and support users, including students, postdocs, and senior scientists.* Collaborate with NIH investigators and provide guidance on experimental design.* Develop and implement standardized workflows, SOPs, and best practices.* Monitor project timelines, instrument usage, and overall facility performance.**What You Will Need:*** Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related field.* A minimum of THREE (3) years of experience in cryo-electron microscopy, structural biology, or related research.* Demonstrated expertise in cryo-EM workflows, instrumentation, and facility operations.* Experience with cryo-EM data collection, processing, and analysis.* Ability to maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot advanced microscopy instrumentation.* Strong organizational, project management, and multitasking skills.* Ability to support and train a diverse scientific user base.* Strong collaboration, communication, and leadership skills.* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and scientific data tools.* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD “public trust”; candidates must receive approved adjudication prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an active public trust or suitability are preferred.**What Would Be Nice To Have:*** Background supporting shared scientific core facilities or user-based research environments.* Familiarity with high-throughput cryo-EM data collection and automation tools.* Exposure to negative-stain EM workflows and complementary imaging techniques.* Ability to optimize workflows for improved throughput, reproducibility, and data quality.The annual salary range for this position is $74,000.00-$124,000.00.
