Job Title RN Med Surg Location Sheboygan, WI Duration 13 Weeks Shift 1845‑0715 (Night Shift 12h/day, 3 days/week) About Facility 3400 Union Ave, Sheboygan, WI 53081 101 Licensed beds Level IV Trauma Center Primary Stroke Center General Information Bed capacity: 23‑24 in units Minimum years of experience: 2 years MedSurg First‑time traveler: Yes Float Pool position – travel to any MedSurg unit, including ER Holding/Boarding Patient Types MS1 General Medical Surgical – oncology (no chemo administration), pediatric patients (>1 yr, no peds experience required), orthopedic (total hips, knees, shoulders), neuro (spine surgery, strokes, altered mental status, TIA), cardiac post‑procedure (cath, TEE, cardioversion – manager approval if no experience) MS2 Ortho/Neuro – observation (chest pain, dizziness, syncope), orthopedic (total hips, knees, shoulders), neuro (spine surgery, strokes, altered mental status, TIA) MS2 Cardiac – cardiac post‑procedure (cath, TEE, cardioversion), general cardiac (heart failure, chest pain, arrhythmias) Patient Ratios Days: 1:4‑6 Nights: 1:6 Required Certifications BLS ACLS NIHSS Skills Required Chest tube management Stable tracheostomy care IV skills, port and central line management Knowledge of CPAP/BiPAP/Airvo (RT manages equipment) Foley insertion and care Feeding tube care Cardiac rhythm interpretation Titrating medication drips: Cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, argatroban (manager approval if no experience) EPIC experience Support on the Unit HUC – days only CNA – vitals, blood glucose; no IV insertions or removals. Days 1:5‑6, PM 1:6‑7, Nights 1:10 Charge nurse – patient assignment (full or reduced) Phlebotomy – peripheral lab draws Hard sticks – notify house supervisor; resource provided (anesthesia or ED tech/RN) RT – 24/7 Hospitalist – 24/7 (secure EPIC chat) OT, PT, ST – weekdays, limited hours on weekends Remote tele‑monitoring – Tele tech; may monitor patients if short Charting System / Equipment EMR: EPIC – experience required IV pumps: Alaris Medication dispensing: Pyxis Floating Anywhere in the hospital with MedSurg patients, including frequent float to ER Holding/Boarding Orientation One full shift – login access, paperwork, EPIC login Remaining portion on unit One 12‑h shift unit orientation – manager chooses unit(s) for orientation; brief orientation to new unit when floating Scheduling Weekend rotation: every other weekend Shift times: 1845‑0715 and 0645‑1915 Schedule made 4‑6 weeks ahead, with 2‑week notice Block scheduling considered upon request, no guarantees RTO approval through manager On‑call: No Holiday expectations: may work 50% of holidays during contract Other Notes Parking – free parking Scrub color – any solid professional color, no graphics or logos Culture – traveler friendly, strong teamwork environment TalentBurst is an equal opportunity employer committed to an inclusive and diverse workforce. #J-18808-Ljbffr
