Studio Manager - Back Bay

SLT is the premier high-intensity Pilates brand in the U.S., and we're continuing our exciting expansion in Boston. We're seeking a dynamic Studio Manager to lead our Back Bay studio, inspire our team, build a thriving local community, and play an integral role in opening future locations across the market. Reporting directly to the COO, you'll lead studio operations, serve as a lead instructor, drive client acquisition and retention, develop your team, and help grow SLT's presence throughout the Boston market. A strong fit for this role should have a passion for fitness, strong leadership skills, and the ability to engage clients and build and grow a community in and around the studio. Instruction & Instructor Team Support Maintain a class quota of up to 15 classes instructed per week, with flexibility to exceed as needed Serve as a reference point for the instructor team on a regular basis, looking for opportunities to support newer instructors with guidance and mentorship model SLT standards for tenured instructors step in and cover classes when the need arises Strategic Community Growth Identify the influential people, groups, and businesses in the local fitness market and determine the most effective ways to get them engaged with SLT: Continuously identify and recruit top instructor talent within the Boston market. Build relationships with local influencers, community leaders, and fitness partners to increase brand awareness and drive new client acquisition. Develop strategic partnerships with complementary brands and plan and execute joint events, projects, and campaigns. Utilization & Revenue Growth Drive new client acquisition and retention through personalized first-time experiences, targeted outreach, and ongoing relationship-building. Generate new client pipelines through strategic partnerships, curated events, community outreach, and targeted programming. Ensure proper execution of marketing campaigns, including setting up promotional signage, updating message boards, enrolling client services team members, and ensuring instructor announcements are in place and executed effectively. Schedule Optimization Continuously optimize the studio schedule by evaluating instructor performance, class utilization, and client demand. Ensure that all classes happen on time and on schedule, including managing instructor subs in collaboration with T&D Analyze class performances on a regular basis, looking for opportunities to optimize instructor allocations optimize class types (Essentials, Hardcore, etc.) add new class times Studio Operations & Team Leadership Team Leadership Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing front desk team that consistently delivers exceptional hospitality and drives studio performance. Assist in the performance management of instructor operations in collaboration with T&D. This will include monitoring punctuality, professionalism, client interaction, and how well they’re adhering to studio marketing and sales responsibilities. Serve as the key point of contact for communication between marketing, operations, and instructors—You will need to relay information about upcoming promotions, schedule changes, or internal rollouts to your in studio teams Facilities Management Ensure the studio is well-maintained, and that all maintenance issues are addressed in a timely manner Manage upkeep and maintenance of machines Customer Service & Client Management Handle client inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure that clients feel heard and valued in a timely and professional manner. Drive client retention through personalized follow-ups, milestone recognition, and a focus on rewarding loyalty. Qualifications Management experience, preferably in the fitness, wellness or retail industry a plus Has an established local fitness network & previous group fitness experience Self-starter with strong managerial and interpersonal skills Ability to multi-task and think and react quickly Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Critical thinking skills are a must Ability to work flexible, non-traditional hours, including weekends and holidays Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary range: $70,000+ annual salary, with flexibility based on experience and skillset Company laptop Health insurance PTO & sick leave Unlimited, free class drop-ins Community partnership perks More About SLT SLT is the premier high-intensity Pilates fitness studio in the US.
