Financial Controller

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building structure, improving processes, and driving accurate financial reporting while leading a high‑performing accounting team. The Controller will oversee the full accounting cycle, ensure strong internal controls, and provide leadership with clear financial insights to support strategic decision‑making. Key Responsibilities: Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, month‑end close, and financial reporting Manage and mentor the accounting team while establishing best practices and scalable processes Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Ensure compliance with GAAP and maintain strong internal controls Lead the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors Partner with executive leadership to analyze financial performance and support strategic planning Oversee cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting in collaboration with finance leadership Identify opportunities to improve systems, reporting, and operational efficiencies What We’re Looking For: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred) 7–12+ years of progressive accounting experience Prior leadership or team management experience Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems Strategic mindset with the ability to operate both hands‑on and at a leadership level DIVERSTIY AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITY Ascendo is a certified minority owned staffing firm, we welcome and celebrate diversity.
