Zoo Maintenance Worker Milwaukee County Zoo Hourly Pay Range: $24.00 - $26.00 Closing Date: 09/09/2026 or upon receipt of the first 50 applications Job Summary: Responsible for maintaining and repairing the buildings, equipment, and grounds of the zoo. Will need to perform in a wide range of maintenance tasks, including basic repairs, preventative maintenance, painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. Repair and Maintenance: To repair and maintain Zoo structures, equipment, enclosures, to change lights, belts, and filters, to clean, grease, and lubricate, repair walls, doors, locks, windows, and screens, to do minor electrical and plumbing repairs, to monitor HVAC equipment, to maintain records. To fabricate, design and build crates, cages, fencing, to alter function of equipment, to construct shelving, carts, furniture. Restoration: To restore parts of the Zoo using skills such as Carpentry, painting, roofing, drywall and much more. Computer tasks/Work orders: Other: To assist with animal moves, to assist skilled trades, and other jobs and duties that maybe assigned. Current resident of Wisconsin. Possession of a High School Diploma or G.At least one (1) year of work experience in the building trades or as a facilities or maintenance worker. Willing and able to work overtime, weekends, and shift rotations.
