Duties This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement, Office of Communication in Washington DC.At the full performance level (GS-13) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:Coordinate and provide oversight and guidance to achieve OSMRE Section 508 Program goals, initiatives, and critical work of OSMRE personnel.Serve as the key Section 508 Program liaison to internal and external organizations.Provide expertise to the organization and program/project managers in implementing Section 508 and technical assistance on Section 508 issues.Coordinate the reviews of selected electronic and Information Technology (EIT) products. See QualificationsMinimum Qualification Requirements:To qualify for this position, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that are typically in or directly related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service, or comparable pay band system. Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as: applying regulatory standards, and related accessibility regulations to the Section 508 law in order to implement organizational guidelines, polices, training, and best practices; collaborating efforts with multiple independent organizations to identify and leverage best practices for section 508, and a working knowledge of assistive technology, including screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice activated software, and Braille devices; and the Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act (FITARA)(April 2016).Must meet all.Additional information on the qualification requirements is outlined in the OPM Qualification Standards Handbook of General Schedule Positions and is available at OPM's website: All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
