Position Description

Seeking dedicated healthcare professionals to join our team in a dynamic medical-surgical/telemetry environment. The role involves providing exceptional patient care in various settings, including medical-surgical floors, telemetry units, and potentially floating to other areas as needed.

Shift Details

• Shift Schedule: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
• Contracts Available: 36 or 48 hours per week

Floating Expectations

Travelers will be expected to float between different units, including medical-surgical, telemetry, and lower acuity settings. Floating to the Emergency Department (ED) may occur, with ratios of 1:5, and occasionally, 1:6 based on patient acuity and available resources.

Holiday Availability

It is required to work 2 out of 3 designated holiday bundles, which include:

• Thanksgiving & the day after
• Christmas Eve & Christmas Day
• New Year's Eve & New Year's Day

Qualifications

• Licensure: NM license may pending at time of submission.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a relevant role.
• Certifications Required: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS.
• Skills: Proficient in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
• COVID-19 Vaccine: Optional, but reporting is required.
• Flu Vaccine: Required, with medical or religious exemptions allowed.

Patient and Facility Information

• Type of Facility: Level I Trauma, Teaching Hospital, Acute Care.
• Total Staffed Beds: 554.
• Patient Age Groups: Adults and Geriatrics.
• Daily Census: Hospital operates at over 100% capacity.
• Charting System: Cerner.

Unit Details

The medical-surgical/telemetry unit provides care for patients with diverse needs, including:

• Heart Failure
• Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
• End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD)
• Trauma and Stroke
• Oncology (Both Hematology and Medical)
• Sepsis and other acute conditions

Additional Information

• Scrub Color: Black.
• Parking Cost: No fee.
• Orientation and Training: Modules included during orientation, with an expectation of up to 12 hours of training for higher acuity specialties.
• Travel Requirements: No local candidates accepted within a 100-mile radius.
• Length of Assignment: Minimum of 10 weeks.
