Job Purpose The Controller is responsible for creating structure, accuracy, discipline, and operational visibility across Natura’s accounting and financial processes. This role oversees day‑to‑day accounting operations while partnering closely with Executive Leadership, Directors, Branch Managers, and the accounting team to improve reporting accuracy, strengthen financial processes, and increase visibility into branch‑level financial performance. The Controller must understand how Natura operates as a business, including labor management, contracts, branch operations, customer onboarding, and service delivery, to identify financial trends, operational gaps, and opportunities for improvement. This is a highly operational and hands‑on position focused on stabilizing and improving accounting infrastructure while helping leadership better understand the financial health of the organization. Duties and Responsibilities Accounting Operations & Financial Accuracy Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations and financial reporting processes across the organization. Improve accuracy, consistency, and discipline with accounts receivable, accounts payable, contract and billing accuracy, and process breakdowns. Ensure timely and accurate month‑end close and financial statement preparation. Create accountability and structure around branch‑level financial reporting and documentation. Support the accounting team in building stronger habits, clearer processes, and consistent follow‑through. Accounts Receivable & Cash Flow Visibility Improve visibility and discipline surrounding cash flow and receivables management. Oversee and improve AR processes, collections visibility, aging buckets, and account management. Monitor and report cash conversion ratios, days to pay, days to discount, days outstanding balances, and collection trends. Identify operational or contractual issues contributing to AR challenges and partner with internal teams to improve communication, documentation, and accountability. Financial Review & Analysis Review branch P&Ls regularly to identify trends, labor, replacement margin, operational inefficiencies, and financial anomalies. Understand how branch operations directly impact revenue, labor costs, AR/AP performance, and profitability. Provide operational insight into branch performance and actionable recommendations for improvement. Support leadership in understanding the “why” behind financial performance, not just the numbers. Build and improve reporting visibility across the organization. Reporting Development Develop consistent daily financial visibility and week‑to‑week reporting structures. Implement monthly financial reporting and KPI dashboards. Ensure reporting is timely, accurate, actionable, and trustworthy. Identify opportunities to make reporting easier to access and understand for decision‑making. Process Improvement & Organizational Discipline Identify areas requiring improvement, communicate clear recommendations, and develop implementation plans. Align on priorities and develop timelines. Document processes to create consistency across the accounting function. Bring a continuous improvement mindset to recurring challenges. Support key financial administrative responsibilities and external financial relationships. External & Internal Relationships Coordinate tax preparation, CPA relationships, banking relationships, insurance administration, 401(k) administration, and asset management schedules. Ensure compliance and organization across all financial documentation and reporting. Escalate concerns, gaps, or risks to leadership in a timely and professional manner. Support innovation and continuous improvement within accounting and finance processes. Team Leadership & Development Lead, train, and develop accounting team members to ensure high performance and continuous growth. Participate in financial and KPI meetings as needed. Collaborate with Directors and Branch Managers to improve accountability, align financial processes with operational realities, and build trust across all levels of the organization. Communicate clearly, professionally, and proactively while demonstrating a leadership style rooted in ownership, humility, and follow‑through. Experience in accounting leadership, team supervision, or informal team leadership. Strong understanding of AR/AP processes and financial reporting. Experience with month‑end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Ability to analyze branch, department, or operational P&Ls. Strong operational and business acumen. Ability to identify trends and operational impacts within financials. Experience improving accounting processes and documentation. Strong communication and leadership skills. High attention to detail and accountability. Ability to work cross‑functionally with both accounting and non‑accounting leaders. Comfortable in a hands‑on role within a growing organization. Preferred Experience in service‑based or multi‑location operational business. Experience working closely with operational leaders. Experience with ERP/accounting systems. Experience with financial dashboards and KPI reporting. Interest in AI, automation, and process innovation. Experience helping develop or mentor accounting team members. CPA or CPA track preferred.
