Account Executive (Oncology) Sacramento

Summary Presents and sells Merit products to new and existing accounts and follows up with these customers to confirm that products delivered meet their needs. Makes in‑service presentations to clinicians, explains new products and their use, and maintains close relationships with clients to ensure their needs are understood and met. Responsibilities Establish and maintain close relationships with new clients and existing accounts by meeting regularly, presenting and demonstrating Merit products, and explaining benefits. Identify potential customers and introduce them to the products offered by Merit. Maintain contacts with clients to monitor satisfaction and identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction. Prepare customized drawings for clients needing custom kits or manifolds. Prepare and submit pricing contracts to clients. Follow up with clients to identify opportunities to increase sales volume and profitability. Resolve problems with clients regarding manufacturing or delivery issues. Coordinate with other Merit marketing and sales staff to ensure correct products are shipped on time, stay informed about new products, and provide customer feedback for product innovation. Make decisions within approved authorization limits regarding product pricing to optimize sales volume and profitability. Prepare a monthly report summarizing sales results, contacts made, product needs, and suggestions for improvement. Participate in sales training and planning meetings to learn about new products and marketing promotions, and share information about sales goals. Maintain a high level of knowledge about Merit and competitor products and their advantages and disadvantages. Set and achieve personal performance goals for sales volume, new contacts, new client sales, and other related results. Participate as a member of the Merit sales team to improve market share by identifying ways to increase product quality and customer satisfaction. Travel by car, airplane, bus, or other means to perform sales duties with clients. Perform other sales‑related duties as required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Minimum of three years of direct sales experience, preferably in medical product sales. Strong communication skills and ability to understand the needs of others in a sales relationship. High degree of personal motivation and drive to achieve goals. Excellent oral presentation skills and quick reasoning ability to explain solutions to medical technicians and clinicians. Ability to learn the use of medical equipment and identify possible improvements. Effective teamwork skills to achieve organization goals. Ability to use business mathematics to calculate percentages, prepare financial and sales information. Personal organization skills for recording, reporting, and documenting work performed. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Readiness to travel extensively and work long hours to achieve goals. Excellent driving record with no major accidents in the past three years and no more than one traffic ticket. Demonstrated computer skills (spreadsheets, word processing, databases, and other applicable software). Compensation & Benefits Base salary starting at $85,000 annually, adjustable based on experience and qualifications. Variable compensation plan with uncapped commission opportunities. Multiple shift and hour options: days, swing, and nights. Medical, dental, and other insurance (eligible after 30 days). Low‑cost onsite medical clinic and two onsite cafeterias.
