Individual Support Worker (ISS)

Your Day as an Individual Support Worker As a Part-Time Individual Support Worker at Owen Health Care, you will play a pivotal role in assisting behavioral therapists to create effective behavioral therapy programs tailored to children and adolescents. Your responsibilities will include implementing individualized service plans, providing behavioral interventions in home and community settings, and actively managing youth with behavioral challenges. Ensuring a safe and supportive environment is essential, as you will develop and initiate safety standards while instructing youth on positive behavioral practices. Additionally, you will monitor and document observations of youth behavior, allowing for necessary modifications to daily activities that align with therapeutic goals. Your creativity will shine as you develop and implement engaging recreational activities that support the emotional and social growth of the youth you care for, ensuring they have a clean and secure environment to thrive in. Responsibilities and Activities Implement individualized service plans for children and adolescents. Provide behavioral interventions in home and community settings. Develop and initiate safety standards; teach positive behavioral practices. Monitor and document observations of youth behavior and modify daily activities accordingly. Create engaging recreational activities to support emotional and social growth. Qualifications Candidate must possess a college degree with one year of experience or a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of three years of supervised experience in implementing positive behavior support plans and teaching ADL/Instrumental skills to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building relationships with both children and their families. Ability to work independently while following established protocols and guidelines. Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children and adolescents in a supportive and nurturing manner. Prior experience in behavioral interventions and a commitment to ongoing professional development are highly valued.
