It takes intermediate medical patients and surgery overflow such as TURPS, lap chol, lap appy, lap hernia, eye surgery, oral surgery, diabetic teaching, and wound care. It is a fast paced unit that is necessary for throughput both out of the ED and OR. First-timers accepted: (Y/N) No Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed per unit. Weekend REQ: 8 weekend shifts in Saint Luke s 6-week schedule period, combination of F/S/S. Certs REQ: BLS, NIHSS Work Settings: MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, ER Holding, Neuro Stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown. Skills REQ: Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry -on the unit monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams. Endocrine/Metabolic: IV insulin protocols. Gastrointestinal: Feeding tube care and management. Genitourinary/Renal: Continuous Bladder Irrigation IV therapy/Phlebotomy: Accessing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting IVs. MEDICATIONS: Heparin Protocols, PCA. Neurological/Psychiatric: CVA. Respiratory: Nasal Cannula, Oxygen face masks, Portable Oxygen tank. Professional Topics and Skills: Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac. Additional Skills: cbi management. Skills Preferred: Endocrine/Metabolic: Titration of Insulin Drips.
