Operations Specialist

Inventory Specialist Position Summary: The Inventory Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of all inventory processes, from receiving and storage to distribution and record-keeping. This role involves comprehensive inventory management, including cycle counting, discrepancy resolution, and optimizing warehouse operations. The Inventory Specialist will collaborate with various departments to maintain optimal stock levels, implement best practices, and contribute to overall supply chain effectiveness. Key Responsibilities Perform daily cycle counts and reconciliation, as well as customer‑requested inventory counts. Manage damaged inventory, including systematic and physical disposal, coordinating with Account Managers. Conduct inventory adjustments to correct discrepancies and resolve root causes, notifying management of significant variances. Maintain accurate and current inventory data within computerized inventory systems. Oversee inventory control processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency in stock levels. Perform dock put away for components and assist with data entry of inbound materials/products. Ensure all shelves and bins are clean and maintain appropriate minimum/maximum quantities. Maximize staging areas for full warehouse capacity and optimize material storage and warehouse layout. Drive 5S housekeeping efforts within the warehouse. Operate a forklift for material movement. Handle, move, and store raw, intermediate, and finished goods in appropriate locations. Ensure accurate part transactions to meet department goals and identify best shipping methods for cost improvement. Process and track all product supply returns, ensuring proper credits and charges are applied. Implement policies and procedures on inventory control. Evaluate distribution and inventory systems and recommend improvements. Become proficient in relevant ERP/WMS systems to assist with training and issue resolution. Monitor inventory trends, generate reports, and make recommendations regarding slow‑moving inventory and obsolescence. Participate in improvement projects/events and daily/weekly operating meetings. Qualifications Proven experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, and supply chain processes. Proficiency in ERP/WMS systems. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to research root causes and recommend corrective actions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively interacting with various internal and external stakeholders. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, adapting to changing priorities. Experience with cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution. Knowledge of inventory management best practices (e.g., FIFO). Ability to operate a forklift. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
