APP Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant- Plastic Surgery- FT Days

Overview The Nurse Practitioner (NP) functions under the oversight of the Interdisciplinary Practice Committee (IDPC) and the supervising physician. The NP provides routine assessment, management, and treatment of patients with acute and chronic complaints, health‑maintenance concerns, and collaborates with physicians to implement standardized procedures. Responsibilities Provide medical services strictly within the scope of competence, under physician supervision. Consult or refer to a physician when the task, procedure or diagnostic problem exceeds competence. Evaluate and treat patients with acute, chronic complaints and health‑maintenance concerns according to written standard procedures. Obtain complete histories and perform physical examinations with assessment of findings. Order and evaluate diagnostic studies and laboratory tests as indicated. Administer, order, furnish, and prescribe medications in accordance with formulary protocols. Order and collect specimens for laboratory tests, screening procedures, therapeutic procedures, blood products, and other routine tests. Order physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology examinations, and nursing services. Perform designated procedures after demonstrated competency; obtain informed consent where required. Initiate arrangements for hospital admissions and discharges and complete necessary paperwork. Enroll patients in investigational studies approved by the IRB and order required tests and medications. Assist supervising physician in the operating room, subject to training and supervision. Recognize and respond to situations requiring immediate physician attention and initiate lifesaving procedures when necessary. Coordinate inpatient and outpatient care and collaborate with community resources. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and clinical policies and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Provide and coordinate patient teaching and counseling. Perform additional duties as assigned. Job Attributes Level I – Entry level; FLSA Status: Exempt; Job Code: 400077. Education & Qualifications Master’s or doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited college or university; NP programs accredited by NLNAC or CCNE. Registered Nurse (RN) state licensure and/or Compact State Licensure. Nurse Practitioner (NP) license. BLS – Basic Life Support certification. Compensation Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $89.01–$117.94 per hour. Final salary will depend on internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
