Schedule: MondayFriday, 8:00 AM4:30 PM CST
Hours: 37.5 hours/week
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Residency Requirement: Tennessee residents only
Overtime: Not eligible

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Adolescent Health Program Coordinator to provide statewide leadership for initiatives focused on improving the health, development, and well-being of adolescents.

The selected candidate will lead the planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of adolescent health programs while working closely with schools, healthcare providers, community organizations, youth-serving agencies, and young people.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of adolescent health, positive youth development, public health program management, strategic planning, partnerships, grant management, and program evaluation .

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of an Adolescent Health Strategic Plan.

• Provide leadership for statewide adolescent health programs and initiatives.

• Develop, implement, manage, and evaluate public health programs.

• Coordinate youth-focused prevention and health promotion initiatives.

• Work with schools, community organizations, healthcare providers, and youth-serving organizations to support program implementation.

• Coordinate youth engagement activities, including advisory groups, focus groups, and youth-led initiatives.

• Ensure youth perspectives are incorporated into program planning, implementation, and evaluation.

• Lead and coordinate projects involving adolescent mental health, suicide prevention, substance-use prevention, healthy relationships, sexual health, pregnancy prevention, nutrition, physical activity, and positive youth development.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

• Provide technical assistance, consultation, training, and subject-matter expertise to partners.

• Monitor program performance and evaluate outcomes.

• Analyze data and use findings to improve program effectiveness.

• Develop grant applications, progress reports, presentations, and other required reports.

• Support grant management and performance measurement activities.

• Represent the organization at committees, workgroups, conferences, and collaborative initiatives.

• Manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines.

Required Qualifications

• Knowledge of adolescent development, positive youth development, and public health practices.

• Experience developing, implementing, managing, and evaluating public health programs or initiatives.

• Experience developing strategic plans and translating priorities into measurable actions.

• Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong public speaking and presentation skills.

• Strong meeting facilitation and technical writing abilities.

• Experience providing technical assistance, training, or consultation.

• Knowledge of grant management, program evaluation, and performance measurement.

• Strong organizational, analytical, critical-thinking, and project-management skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Education Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Education, Social Work, Behavioral Science, Education, or a related field required.

• Master's degree preferred.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in:

  • Adolescent health

  • Public health

  • Program management

  • Strategic planning

  • Community health

  • A related field

• Experience leading statewide initiatives, grants, or community-based public health programs preferred.

• Experience working with adolescents, schools, healthcare providers, or youth-serving organizations preferred.

• Grant writing and grant management experience preferred.

• Program planning and evaluation experience preferred.

• State government/public-sector experience is a plus.

Work Environment Eligibility

• Tennessee residency is required.

• Candidate must reside in Tennessee at the time of hire and maintain Tennessee residency throughout the assignment.

• Hybrid work environment with periodic in-person meetings.

• New hires must report to Nashville for onboarding and equipment deployment.

• Ability to travel throughout Tennessee for meetings, trainings, site visits, and partner engagement.

• Ability to travel out of state approximately four times per year for conferences, meetings, and professional development.

• Travel to the Nashville office is not reimbursed.

• Successful completion of a background check is required.
