RN ICU

The Level 3 Registered Nurse (RN) in the ICU is responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients using the nursing process. This role involves patient assessment, data collection, care planning, intervention, and evaluation while maintaining professional communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams. The RN will float across critical care units including ICU, CCU, ED, and other specified units, requiring flexibility and expertise in emergency and critical care settings. Responsibilities:

• Utilize the nursing process to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Collect and report critical patient data to physicians in a timely manner.
• Assess lab and diagnostic data and document physical assessment findings.
• Identify abnormal findings and develop individualized plans of care.
• Advocate for patients and their families throughout care delivery.
• Perform nursing interventions according to patient needs and hospital policies.
• Evaluate patient outcomes relative to established goals.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and exercise care in patient interactions.
• Maintain professional demeanor and effective communication with patients, families, peers, and management.
• Float to various units including North 2, North 3, ICU/CCU, and Emergency Department as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse license to practice in New York State.
• Minimum 2 years recent experience in ICU and Emergency Department settings.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS provider certifications from the American Heart Association.
• Current TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) certification.
• Moderate Sedation certification.
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification.

• Experience in cardiac catheterization or float experience to CCU and ED preferred.

• Ability to float between ICU, CCU, ED, and other critical care units as required.
• Must maintain a professional demeanor and strong communication skills in a high-acuity environment.
• Shared housing available at a cost.

• Day shift from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
• Every other week (EOW) scheduling.
