Registered Nurse - Maternal Child Health

The Registered Nurse on Maternal Child Health is responsible for providing direct patient care to a designated group of patients within the Maternal Child Health department. Job Description

The Registered Nurse on Maternal Child Health is responsible for providing direct patient care to a designated group of patients within the Maternal Child Health department. This role requires collaboration with unit leadership to adhere to the scope of practice for nursing governing bodies applicable to Maternal Child Health, including AWONN, ACOG, NNA, and AORN.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and families, identifying both uncomplicated and highly complex needs.
• Collect and observe data, planning, implementing, and evaluating care to meet patients' physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs.
• Utilize a person-centered care approach in developing care plans and prioritizing nursing care to meet patient and family needs.
• Demonstrate critical thinking skills by making appropriate clinical decisions and proactively addressing potential and actual problems.
• Implement technical skills required for patient care competently.
• Remain current on policies, procedures, and standards, acting as a resource to peers.
• Facilitate connections between patients, families, and other disciplines and services as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Postpartum experience required.
• Must be able to independently care for mother/baby couplets.
• Current Registered Nurse license as per state regulations.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
