Position Summary Position Purpose: The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner conducts comprehensive client assessments and
supports the principles of the treatment program. This role also ensures the delivery of nursing services
with a focus on continuity, while maintaining the highest ethical, legal, and moral standards. Create and
uphold a safe and therapeutic environment in alignments with relevant regulatory and accreditation
requirements.
Qualifications/Skills:
• Master’s or Doctoral level program completion from an accredited institution
• Qualification for licensure in Illinois and Indiana and eligibility for a Controlled Substances
Registration Certificate (DEA)
• Willingness to enter and maintain a written collaborative/practice agreement with a collaborating
physician as required by Illinois and Indiana scope of practice regulations.
• Current national board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC,
ANCC), in good standing.
• Strong written communication skills to ensure accurate and timely completion of required
documentation
• Ability to present and coordinate lectures for clients, staff or community
• BLS certification, or completion within three months of employment.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency insurance requirements as well as travel between sites
as needed.
• Belief in the mission and vision of Rosecrance
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Work hours prescribed and any additional hours deemed necessary for the responsibilities assigned.
2. Conduct psychiatric and health assessments, providing follow-up care and appropriate medication
management.
3. Provide care via both in-person visits and telehealth plaforms.
4. Deliver Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for clients with anxiety disorders.
5. Lead and facilitate group psychoeducational programs for clients.
6. Provide staff education on relevant topics and offer clinical instruction for students.
7. Attend and contribute to administrative and team meetings as required.
8. Participate in Performance Improvement initiatives as assigned.
9. Engage in Infection Control activities and stay informed about current infection control practices.
10. Monitor and follow up on existing or new medical conditions that may impact treatment.
11. Make appropriate dietary referrals as needed.
12. Maintain certification in adult and infant/child CPR.
13. Participate as a member of assigned teams and actively engage in all team meetings and activities.
14. Understand and comply with all the principles established by the Rosecrance Corporate
Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
15. Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer.
16. Serve as a role model for other staff, clients and customers and demonstrate positive guest relations
in representing Rosecrance.
17. Assume other related responsibilities as assigned by leadership.
Physical Requirements/Percentage of Work Time
1. Vision: Must be able to read printed and/or handwritten materials from a variety of sources: 75-100%
2. Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with coworkers: 50-79%; answer
incoming phone calls: 0-24%;
3. Standing/Walking/Mobility: Must have mobility between departments within the facility: 25-49%
4. Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: Must be able to climb, stoop and or kneel as needed within the
department/workspace: 0-24%
5. Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Must exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 5 pounds of
force frequently to lift or move objects: 25-49%
6. Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to finger keyboard for computer work and phone
equipment for placing/receiving calls: 50-74%
7. Sitting: must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time when using the computer: 50-74%
