Academic/Faculty/Research Physician

Overview The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of California, Davis seeks a dynamic leader to serve as the Director of Molecular Pathology at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank, in the Clinical (X) or Health Sciences Clinical Professor (HSCP) series. This position reports to the Director of Clinical Pathology and will be an operational leader, providing strategic vision and collaborative implementation to enhance the department s Molecular Pathology Division and laboratory testing. Clinical and administrative responsibilities will include medical, technical, and scientific directorship of division staff and laboratory personnel in collaboration with the Department Chair and other department section leaders, with the expectations of supervising molecular laboratory operations, participating in test reporting and new test development, while contributing to quality assurance and accreditation activities. Collaborate within UC Davis Health System and across entities such as the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and the California National Primate Center. Teach housestaff and medical students, participate in interdisciplinary conferences, and contribute to curriculum development in subspecialty areas. Qualifications Qualified applicants must possess an MD, MD-equivalent, PhD or MD/PhD degree, with board certification/eligibility in Pathology and certification/eligibility in Molecular Pathology (or comparable board). Eligible for licensure in California. US Citizens, permanent residents or hold an employment visa, with experience in a clinical or academic setting including clinical care, teaching, and research that would meet requirements for appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level in one of the University of California s clinically intensive academic series Clinical (X) or Health Sciences Clinical Professor (HSCP) series. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including in a multidisciplinary environment. Appointment and Compensation This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, with a salary range for this position of $157,500 - $409,700.
